CHP calls off high-speed pursuit of motorcycle in Lancaster

California Highway Patrol officers called off a high-speed pursuit, which had briefly passed through the Santa Clarita Valley, after they lost sight of the suspect near Highway 14 in the Antelope Valley late Monday night.

The pursuit started in South Los Angeles, near Inglewood Avenue, according to officers.

CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said CHP officers joined the pursuit when it reached the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, at approximately 9 p.m.

The suspect was seen driving a motorcycle going more than 100 mph, according to Kimball.

Officers called off the search near the intersection of 20th Street and Avenue J in Lancaster.
