A single blood donation can save up to three lives, according to city officials, which is why Santa Clarita and the American Red Cross are partnering to host two community blood drives on April 26.

Residents who are interested in donating blood will have two opportunities to do so, according to a news release from the city, which said community members who would like to register for an appointment should visit redcrossblood.org and enter the corresponding sponsor code, which will determine the location where one will donate.

The first opportunity will be from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Old Town Newhall Library in Meeting Room 100, officials said, adding those interested in donating can use sponsor code “NewhallLibrary” for the Old Town Newhall location.

The second opportunity to give blood will be in the Century Room at City Hall, 23920 Valencia Blvd. The blood drive at City Hall will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to the release. The sponsor code to register online for the City Hall location is “CityOfSantaClarita.”For questions regarding the April 26 blood drive events, residents can contact Amanda Santos at 661-255-4923 or [email protected].
