A man was arrested on suspicion of utility theft and burglary after Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies found him soaking wet and appearing as if he just exited the shower of a residence on the 25900 block of Sardinia Court in Valencia on Tuesday night, according to officials with the station.
Deputies got a “burglary now” call at the residence and a woman in her 70s said a man entered her residence through an unlocked back door, according to an email statement by spokeswoman Shirley Miller with the station.
He was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary and misdemeanor utility theft, according to the statement.
As deputies were bringing him into the station jail for booking, he allegedly became physically combative with deputies, the statement said.
As a result, he was also arrested on suspicion of felony charges of battery on a peace officer, Miller’s statement said.
The man remains in custody and in lieu of $50,000 bail as of the publication of this story, the statement said.
