A man was arrested after attempting to burglarize and steal multiple vehicles on the 18000 block of Soledad Canyon Road on Sunday morning, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The incident happened around 9:15 a.m., with deputies receiving numerous calls of a man smashing windows with his fists, successfully getting into two vehicles, according to Lt. Dustin Wiemann with the station.
A witness was able to give deputies a suspect description, leading to a brief foot pursuit, ending with the suspect being non-compliant and deputies employing a minor use of force, Wiemann said.
No deputies were injured during the pursuit or use of force, Wiemann added.
The suspect was on active probation for burglary, according to Wiemann.
Wiemann added that the suspect was tampering with cars and attempting to steal them.
The specific charges he was booked on were not yet available Sunday morning.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the surrounding area on Nugget Drive and Ironstone Drive at 9:22 a.m., arriving on the scene about four minutes later, according to Jonathan Torres, spokesman for the Fire Department.
Firefighters transported the suspect at 9:38 a.m. and arrived at the local hospital at 9:52 a.m., Torres said.
There is no additional information at the time of this publication, according to Wiemann.
