Los Angeles County Medical Examiner officials have confirmed Carrie Romney’s cause of death, almost two months after her body was found near a Valencia Town Center parking structure.
The death of the 64-year-old Valencia resident was ruled a suicide after she was found near a parking structure on Oct. 10 around 9 p.m. on the 24000 block of Town Center Drive. She was politician Mitt Romney’s sister-in-law.
L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives responded to the location in relation to the death investigation.
During the initial investigation, L.A. County Medical Examiner officials listed her death as “deferred” before confirming the cause on Tuesday.
“Our family is heartbroken by the loss of Carrie, who brought warmth and love to all our lives,” Mitt Romney, a former U.S. senator representing Utah and former governor of Massachusetts, said in a statement to People following Carrie’s death.
