Hart district board set to award scholarships, receive presentation on school site

The William S. Hart Union High School District governing board is set to vote on student scholarships, present a One Hart award, and receive a school site report on Rancho Pico Junior High School during Tuesday’s scheduled meeting.  

The list of scholarship recipients for April is on Tuesday’s agenda item and according to an attachment on the matter, six students will be receiving scholarships ranging from $250 to $750. It is recommended that the board approve the item andaccording to the agenda item, it aims to support the district’s strategic goal no. 1, which is student learning and instruction.  

The scholarships students are set to receive include the Canyon Cowboys Basketball Scholarship, the Brauer Family Tools of Tomorrow Scholarship, the Padres Unidos Scholarship, and the National Honor Society Scholarship. 

A One Hart award is also on the agenda, and a trustee will recognize a community member that exemplifies the district’s core values: community, caring, creativity, and courage. The One Hart award supports the district’s strategic goal no. 5 which is communication and collaboration.  

Rancho Pico Junior High School Principal Adam Barrios will update the board and community on the work school officials are doing to support students, which also supports the district’s goal of communication and collaboration.  

According to the presentation attachment, Rancho Pico has 848 students, and has been recognized as a California Distinguished School six times.
