News release

Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley is scheduled to host a Giving Tree Celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the James T. Ventress Clubhouse in Newhall, honoring the supporters whose ongoing commitments help create brighter futures for local youth.

The Giving Tree recognizes individuals who make multi-year pledges through the club’s Great Futures Giving Society, committing at least $1,000 per year for five years, for a total pledge of $5,000 or more. Each supporter’s name is displayed on a personalized tag on the Giving Tree at the James T. Ventress Clubhouse, creating a lasting tribute to the people who invest in the future of local youth, said a news release from the nonprofit organization.

These commitments, made through the club’s Great Futures Breakfast, help sustain the programs and opportunities that allow young people to discover their strengths, build confidence and prepare for what lies ahead, the release said.

The Giving Tree Celebration will bring supporters and club members together to recognize these commitments and the impact behind them. New tags will be added to honor recent pledges, while a club member will share a poem they wrote for the occasion. Attendees will then work alongside club members to build gingerbread houses, creating an opportunity to connect and share an afternoon together at the club, the release said.
