News release

The city of Santa Clarita is inviting artists to be part of local open spaces: Submissions for the Temporary Public Art Trailhead Sculpture Program are open now through Nov. 1.

The city will display two selected sculptures from two different artists on permanent concrete pads along the city’s scenic trail system for a two-and-a-half-year exhibition cycle: June 30, 2027, to March 31, 2030.

“This program places high-quality, engaging artwork directly into active community spaces, enhancing the natural environment for thousands of daily trail users,” said a news release from the city.

This Call for Entry is open nationwide and artists are limited to one entry per person. If an artist submits more than one artwork for consideration, they will be disqualified. The total compensation package per selected artist is $8,500, which includes a $5,000 honorarium, a $2,000 engineering stipend and a $1,500 insurance allowance.

Artists of all backgrounds and experience levels, including emerging artists, are encouraged to apply.
