God Made Thee Mine

Because God made thee mine

my life’s been blessed like vintage wine.

I was lost and gone astray

she lit up my life and showed me the way.

We were partners in all we did

bad was behind us, of sorrow we were rid.

Then a black cloud lingered overhead

it stayed up there ‘til you were dead.

The end of the rainbow – no pot of gold

the dark clouds and darkness – I was old.

My life was over – I was sad and alone

I felt a buzz and answered my phone.

The voice was familiar – it was my wife

“I’m waiting for you so we can start our life.”
