A man suspected of following sheriff’s vehicles and running other vehicles off the road along Soledad Canyon Road was taken into custody Sunday afternoon.

“It was just an uncooperative individual who is now in custody,” said Sgt. Janice Banks of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The incident began after deputies arrested a female the suspect was with at a Shell gas station on Golden Valley Road in Canyon Country, according to sheriff’s officials.

After the arrest, the man followed the police cars along Soledad Canyon until more units arrived on scene to take him into custody.

He was detained at the Swap Meet parking lot along Soledad Canyon.

The man was arrested at 2:40 p.m. for reckless driving.
