On Sunday, Dec. 4, the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons will light up with the special holiday performance “A Very Electric Christmas.”

Performed in complete darkness, this Lightwire Theater production tells the story of a young bird named Max, who becomes separated from his family on the way south for the winter to celebrate Christmas.

Follow along on Max’s adventures as he attempts to reunite with his family, encountering Nutcracker soldiers with candy-canes, naughty rats, glowworms, and dancing flowers.

The costumes and light-up structures used on stage are made of recyclable materials and electroluminescent wire, creating a dazzling visual display sure to delight audience members of all ages.

Christmas music by artists like Nat King Cole, Mariah Carey, and Tchaikovsky are all a part of the show, blending classic and contemporary with a few new surprises thrown in.

Tickets for this show are priced from $20 to $38.

The show starts at 1 p.m., but patrons are invited to arrive at noon to participate in a variety of holiday activities including a family photo corner, glow-in-the-dark crafts and seasonal snacks.

The members of Lightwire Theater have been performing for audiences the world over since their appearance on the NBC TV show “America’s Got Talent” in 2012, where they made it to the semifinals. Since then, they have taken their show to Ferrari’s “Race as Fast as Light” event in Abu Dabi, “The Best Le Meilleur Artiste” competition in Paris, and Las Vegas’ Electric Daisy Carnival.
