The Heritage League named Trinity Classical Academy’s Jessica Eblin MVP about a month after Trinity won its first Heritage League girls volleyball title.
The League also named two members of the Knights’ team to the all-league first team. Seven members of the SCCS girls volleyball team were also recognized by the Heritage League. Four members of the Albert Einstein Academy were also recognized by the Omega League recently.
Eblin led Trinity in serving with 48 aces in 41 games played for an average of 1.2 aces per game. She also led the team by far in assists with 162 and ranked third on the team with 52 kills.
On defense Eblin also placed second on the Knights’ team with 84 digs, trailing only Hanna Caddow, who had 91 digs.
Caddow, a sophomore, and Taylor Oshiro, a senior, were named to the Heritage League first team. The Heritage League also named SCCS senior Vanessa Cardenas and SCCS junior Kalona Marr to the first team.
Trinity Junior Kathryn Brooks, Trinity senior Emily Buchanan, SCCS junior Julia Phillipps, SCCS sophomore Megan Dombrowski, and SCCS sophomore Kaleigh Moss were also named to the all-league second team.
Trinity junior Carissa Bixler, Trinity junior Allie Brown, SCCS sophomore Aaronya Crosswhite, and SCCS senior Mackenzie Kennedy were also given honorable mentions.
Einstein went 15-5 this season and placed second in the Omega League with a record of 11-3. Seniors Brianna Sanford, Helen Rodriguez and Sadie Sheridan were all named to the Omega League first team with freshman Jordan Formia. Francesca Portiz was also named to the second team.
On Oct. 20 Trinity won its first Heritage League title with a 3-1 win over its crosstown rival SCCS and took down an SCCS team that went unbeaten in Heritage League play the previous three seasons.
“We had the mentality that they were going to be out for blood,” Eblin told The Signal at the time. “They wanted it just as much as we did.”
Trinity won its first two games of the CIF-Southern Section Division 9 playoffs with a 3-0 win over de Toledo High School on Nov. 1 and a 3-1 win over Mammoth High on Nov. 3. Trinity played its final game in a 3-2 third-round loss to San Gabriel Academy on Nov. 5.
