A fatal collision shut down both directions of Highway 126 just west of Santa Clarita in Ventura County Tuesday afternoon.
The crash, which involved three vehicles, was reported near Center Street in Piru, 1.3 miles from Rancho Camulos Museum, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.
Two of the vehicles collided head-on. Two people were injured and one person was killed as a result of the crash.
Eastbound lanes of the highway were reported to have heavy traffic at 3:48 p.m. and all lanes were closed at 4:35 p.m.
CHP Moorpark logs approximated reopening lanes at 6:30 p.m. Cars were being routed through Piru as of 4:28 p.m., according to the CHP Moorpark Twitter page.

Motorists looking for a detour around the area can use Interstate 5 south to State Route 118 west to Highway 23 north. For those trying to reach the Santa Clarita Valley from Santa Paula can use Highway 23 south to State Route 118 east to Interstate 5 north.
