A Sylmar electronics technician arrested in the Santa Clarita Valley last year on suspicion of sending or bringing obscene material into the state for sale has been ordered to appear at a mental competency hearing next month.

Rojas-Diaz was ordered Monday to appear at a mental competency hearing Dec. 7, Greg Risling, spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, said Monday.
The felony complaint filed by prosecutors alleges Rojas-Diaz sent or brought obscene material into the state on March 4,2013.
It also alleges he possessed matter on Oct. 23, 2013, which depicted a minor engaging in sexual conduct.
Rojas-Diaz pleaded not guilty in September to charges of “sending/bringing obscene matter into state for sale/etc. and possession of matter depicting minors engaging in sexual conduct,” Santiago said at the time.
