Firefighters made quick work of a small vegetation fire off of the Southbound 5 Freeway at the Whitaker Brake Check near Castaic Saturday morning.
Seven engines and three helicopters were among the personnel that responded to the fire that burned a quarter of an acre before it was put out in 10 minutes according to L.A. County Fire Department officials.
The fire was reported at 5:54 a.m. No structures were threatened. The winds did not cause any extra complications in fighting the fire.
