Greetings from America

An orange cloud appears on the horizon
A new way of life has begun
Corporate America where I live
Soul and spirit now go unsung

All our fortune spent on war
Weapons built at breakneck speed
Fear and hate rule the land
Stock market soars, so does greed

The sick and the old need our help
The poor, the homeless, don’t get the joke
Children need schools, places to play
The American dream gone up in smoke

Gandhi, and Jesus had it right
Peaceful resistance the only way
So brothers and sisters take my hand
Let them know we’re here to stay

The American dream not meant for a few
The American dream stands for what is true
Equality for all, not for some
I am an American , red, white, and blue
