A man was injured after jumping on a car in an attempt to stop a carjacking at a dealership in Newhall Sunday afternoon, according to officials with the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

The male perpetrator allegedly stole a 2004 Chevy Suburban from ATM AutoSales on Newhall Avenue.

The salesman then jumped on the Suburban, and held onto the side of the car while the alleged thief drove down the road according to Sgt. Cortland Myers of the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

“Eventually, he tumbled off and fell into the roadway,” said Myers.

The salesman was injured and transported to a local hospital.
