Brooklyn Hernandez was born with a cystic lung and has undergone five operations in her two and a half years of living. She gets fed from a G-tube and consequently has frequent visits to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).

“They’ve saved her life multiple lives,” said Tiffany Hernandez, Brooklyn’s mom.

In return, Tiffany organized the Brooklyn’s Blessing Boutique and Toy Drive at Placerita Junior High School in Santa Clarita to give

back to the hospital that her daughter has benefited from her entire life.

“It just feels so good to give back and serve other families,” said Tiffany.

All of the vendor fees went to purchase toys and people came through donating toys as well, all of which went to CHLA.

Around 150 shoppers enjoyed homemade goods from some 30 vendors.

One such vendor was Ken Hans who brought his homemade pulled pork for the community to try out. He lives in Saugus and is looking to expand his pulled pork business and is even looking towards getting it professionally bottled.

And that is for good reason. People who tasted his pulled pork were quite impressed, such as Billy Munoz.

“It was ridiculously good,” he said.

Even as his taste buds were soaring, he still didn’t forget that the vendors were there supporting a good cause.

“The fact that this is for a good cause is bonus,” he said.

Tiffany is enthusiastic to get the opportunity to support CHLA as well and plans to continue doing so.

“We’ll keep doing this as long as we have the opportunity,” she said.
