A child was airlifted to a pediatric hospital after medics on scene deemed the situation necessary for immediate medical attention.
“We got the call at 1:36 p.m. at the 20100 block of Smyth Drive for a pediatric patient,” said Inspector Gustavo Medina with the L.A. County Fire Department.
“We will use a helicopter because they can get there in minutes,” Medina said.
According to officials, the child was suffering from a nosebleed and it is unclear how serious it was and if any other ailments contributed to the necessary transport.
The child was airlifted from Valencia to Northridge Hospital Medical Center for treatment.
“The child needed to seek medical attention and the medics on scene deemed that it was necessary and pertinent that the child be flown to the medical center,” said Captain Shaun Oates.
