A city bus was evacuated late Monday afternoon after a man allegedly damaged the vehicle and began yelling.
The incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. when a bus bound for Ruether Avenue stopped near the southeast corner of Ruether and Golden Triangle Road.
At least eight passengers were told to leave the bus. None of the passengers was hurt and a replacement bus picked them up within 10 minutes, City of Santa Clarita spokeswoman Carrie Lujan said.
Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the incident.
They asked for paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department to examine the mental and physical health of the male passenger, Sgt. Chris Maurizi told The Signal.
“He apparently kicked out a door and was yelling that he needed an ambulance,” he said.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics and then taken to the hospital.
He was later arrested on suspicion of vandalism.
