Norma Warden, local artist and president of the Santa Clarita Artists Association, will open a solo exhibition of fine art photography at the Canyon Theatre on March 24. The exhibit is called ‘The Beauty of Change’. A free wine and food reception will be held on Sunday, March 26 from 5-7 p.m.
“Change is a good thing. We are always changing and growing. Our perception of the world around us changes. Our skills as artists change. The messages we want to share change. As a photographer, I’ve gone through a lot of changes in the past two years. I’ve discovered I want to create more than beautiful pictures to hang on the wall. I want my images to evoke emotion and intimacy. I want them to have a message and tell a story,” says Warden.
Warden will debut her first creation in mixed media art at the show. The whimsical piece, ‘At the Carnival,’ includes 165 Swarovski crystals. “My collection of work is eclectic because there are stories all around us. Please enjoy looking at my work. I hope you find a piece that sparks an emotion within you.”
Canyon Theatre is located at 24242 Main St., Newhall. See the 2 p.m. showing of “You Can’t Take It with you” before the reception. Come for the show, stay for the art.
