A vehicle caught fire on the northbound Interstate 5 south of Templin Highway on Sunday, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
One van was fully engulfed in flames on the right shoulder of the freeway and the fire did not spread to any surrounding areas.
Four lanes were blocked after the call went out to officials at 5:13 p.m., according to the CHP Traffic Information Page.
Supervising fire dispatcher Cheryl Sims estimates that the car fire was knocked down between 5:40 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
“(Officials) did additional overhaul,” Sims said. “They made sure there is no underlying fire anywhere, that (the fire) is totally out.”
