Wacky outfits—check.

Full-grown adults on tricycles—check.

Tons of craft beer to go around—double check.

No, this is not an April Fools’ Day Joke.

These ingredients were the recipe for the First Annual Family and Child Center’s Trike Derby that took place at Wolf Creek Brewery in Valencia on Saturday.

“The event entails a bunch of fools on large tricycles doing relay races in funny costumes all in the name of charity,” said Laina McFerren, the owner of Wolf Creek Restaurant and Brewing Company.

Hundreds of people donned crazy outfits as nine different teams competed for bragging rights.

McFerren expected to raise at least $15,000 from the event, which will go towards supporting local families through the Child and Family Center.

The event had more entertainment than just trike races—ranging from food to live music.

And the attendees were extremely excited to be having fun for a good cause, such as Adam Hatley. In fact, his team won second place in the races.

“Words cannot describe something as amazing as this,” he said.  “I feel like I might have actually found my serendipitous moment in life.”

“Every charity event should have an adult tricycle race.”
