In September, the City of Santa Clarita embarked on a Broadband Feasibility Study to examine broadband availability and access for business, and the related needs and policies surrounding wireless and fiber infrastructure in Santa Clarita. As part of this study, which is being conducted by Magellan Advisors, the City is asking business owners to participate in anonline survey that will help identify ways to improve affordable access to high-speed Internet.Business owners are encouraged to take the online survey and participate in the next phase of the study, in-person focus groups. These business-specific focus groups are being scheduled for October 30 at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

As part of the focus groups, representatives from Magellan Advisors will meet with businesses to understand their specific broadband needs, determine the “State of Broadband” in Santa Clarita, document the challenges and needs of specific stakeholders and propose solutions.

A link to the online survey is now available on the homepage of ThinkSantaClarita.com and businesses can register to participate in a focus group by visiting scbroadbandbiz.eventbrite.com.
