When Wanted, a Bon Jovi cover band, took the stage as the first band in the city of Santa Clarita’s summer Concerts in the Park series, fans probably wouldn’t have guessed the band has never had a rehearsal.

“Everyone does their homework at home,” said Steve Frangadakis, guitarist for Wanted, referring to how the band practices.

Danielle Korzhenyak had a chance to talk to the members of the cover band about this and other interesting facts about the band and their journey toward being “one of the best Bon Jovi cover bands,” according to their website.

The Signal interviewed Wanted band members Jerry March and Steve Frangadakis, who shared insights about the band’s performances, how they get ready before shows and the support of their diehard fans in The Signal’s new “Behind the Concerts in the Park” podcast, hosted by Danielle Korzhenyak.

On Saturday, Kenny Metcalf & The Early Years Band are set to take the stage at Central Park, paying tribute to Elton John.

The concerts in the park series runs every Saturday until Aug. 25, featuring cover artists such as Kenny Metcalf as Elton & The Early Years Band, Green ToDay, Hotel California, Matchbox Twenty Too, the Fooz Fighters, The Pettybreakers and 40 oz. to Freedom.

Performances are held every Saturday at Central Park, beginning at 7 p.m. For information about the summer series and artists who will grace the stage, visit the Santa Clarita Concerts in the Park website (santa-clarita.com/city-hall/departments/recreation-community-services-and-open-space/events/concerts-in-the-park)
