The Friends of Castaic Lake, a nonprofit group sponsoring recreational programming at Castaic Lake Park, plans to sell fundraising tickets for two shows by Circus Vargas, which is coming to town this month.
Alex Smith, a Los Angeles County lifeguard at Castaic Lake, said the sponsored shows will fall on Oct. 26.
“We plan to have a special day with people from the lake to go see the circus,” he said. “Friends of Castaic Lake is a nonprofit that supports all the family programs at the lake, so all of the proceeds go back to those programs ultimately.”
“The Friends produce many fishing events geared for kids, and just as that moment as a kid when you catch your first fish, every child should at least have a circus experience once,” he said. “And I’m willing to bet for most it will be just as sacred, something they’ll never forget.”
The “arena adult” ticket sells for $30; the “arena child” sells for $23, the “bleacher adult” sells for $15 and the “bleacher child” for $12. Original prices for each of the tickets are around $7 more.
Discounted tickets are available until Oct. 25 at N’Style Salon, located on 26111 Bouquet Canyon Road, on Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
