News Release

Boy Scout Troop 316 will celebrate the fact that they have reached their 50th Eagle Scout during their Court of Honor event on Nov. 20 at NorthPark Community Church.

“Only about 5 percent of all Boy Scouts ever reach the rank of Eagle Scout in Scouting. Our troop rate is now up to 25 percent, five times the national average,” according to Scoutmaster Robert Clarke.

“It took our Troop 13 years to reach 25 Eagle Scouts, and then just another six short years to reach 50 — 19 years in total. This places our troop among the fastest troops in the nation to reach 50 Eagle Scouts!”

Clarke said, “To make this event extra special, we have invited all 54 of our Troop 316 Eagle Scouts, past and present, to attend the event, plus our three former Scoutmasters as well.”

According to the group, they have a dynamic program with a variety of activities that include camping, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, shooting sports, wilderness survival, first aid skills, orienteering, cooking, fire building, as well as community service projects and leadership development opportunities.

NorthPark Community Church is located at 28310 Kelly Johnson Parkway in Valencia. For more information, contact Rob Clarke at (661) 839-4105 or email [email protected].
