In celebration of American Heart Month, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is offering two free heart health lectures this week.
The first event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to hospital staff. Kim Brown, a Henry Mayo registered dietitian nutritionist, will cover foods one should reduce or avoid, fat and sodium guidelines, how to read food labels and more during her heart health nutrition discussion.
The next lecture will occur the following day at 5:30 p.m., hospital leaders said. Henry Mayo physician Shervin Sadrpour will talk on electrophysiology studies, which are tests that help doctors understand the nature of abnormal heart rhythms.
Both of the free lectures will be held in the Henry Mayo Center, which is located at 23803 McBean Parkway.
