Oakmont of Santa Clarita officials gave adult caregivers and prospective residents details on their new location — Oakmont of Valencia — during an information session and luncheon at Sand Canyon Country Club on Friday.

Executive Director Margie Veis, Sales and Marketing Director Lynn Moss and Oakmont of Valencia Marketing Director Mary Dembkowski presented a slideshow presentation detailing all of the amenities and available options for reserving a place to stay. Guests were treated to a three-course meal of the quality offered at the new Oakmont.

The new location will include restaurant-style dining, social events and excursions, utilities and cable, chauffeured transportation and wellness services for different health needs. Veis said assisted living will remain incorporated, like Oakmont of Santa Clarita, though it will be more personal in terms of helping keep seniors safe and healthy while helping to provide caregivers and adult children a chance to balance their lives.

“We’ll work with families to find out the need for their parent, see if it’s immediate or if they need some time,” Veis said. “If it is someone with dementia or Alzheimer’s, we will work to pick an apartment.”

Veis also spoke of the new Founder’s Club — an option to receive special benefits to the first seniors interested in reserving an apartment. They will receive special benefits that include a lock on monthly fees for one year, one month of rent credit under the “Oak Club” referral program and an invitation to host an exclusive brunch in the private dining room.

Sofiah Pievec attended the luncheon after looking for assisted living for her father. Upon seeing information about their on-site nurse and podiatry services, which her father requires, she was interested.

“The first thing I looked at was what their medical services were like,” she said. “I didn’t know that the services they provided are so detailed.”

At another table, Nadar Noaman said he was looking to sell his home and apply for senior living. Before making a decision, he wanted to check the rent fees and visit the center in person. Veis told guests that tours of the new facility will be held in the months ahead of its opening.

“The most important part is the tour and (to) see what it looks like,” Noaman said. “To believe, you have to see.”

The new location is set to open during the summer, with 30 percent of available rooms already reserved.

“The way we’re going, we’re going to be full in six months,” Veis said. “We’re all a community.”

Oakmont of Valencia joins several other new locations that will add to the Oakmont brand, with development underway in other locations across Southern California.

Oakmont of Valencia will be located at 24070 Copper Hill Drive.
