California Highway Patrol officers with the Newhall-area office responded to a collision in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 and the 405 Freeway connector Monday.
At around 9:45 a.m. Monday, officials were called to the scene of a vehicle pile-up.
“Approximately five vehicles are involved,” said CHP Officer Eric Priessman, adding the initial report indicated a person was trapped in a vehicle.
Fire officials later confirmed there was no one trapped in the vehicle.
The vehicles blocked the carpool and No. 2 lane of the southbound side of the freeway. Drivers were advised to proceed with caution as workers cleared the area.
