The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley is hosting another of their monthly LifeForward workshop series on Saturday, May 18 — with this installment focusing on concerns regarding divorce and family law issues.

This workshop will be led by Al Lustgarten, a local family law practitioner, and is designed to clarify the divorce process by educating participants on their rights during and after a divorce, including topics such as spousal and child support as well as child custody.

Lustgarten is expected to discuss cases involving custody, visitation rights, a grandparent’s rights and division of property.

The series, which is designed to help participants build the skills they need to succeed, develops curriculum in which women express interest, according to Phyllis Walker, second vice president and membership chair at the Zonta Club.

Previous workshops have focused on women’s empowerment, cyberbullying, finances, anger management, communication, nutrition, exercise and parenting.

The May LifeForward workshop is scheduled 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 18, at the Child & Family Center’s Education building located at 21545 Center Pointe Parkway.

The workshop is free to attend and pre-registration is not required, but for more information on this or future workshops, visit scvzonta.org or call Single Mothers Outreach at 661-288-0117.
