The city of Santa Clarita has advised commuters to be aware of scheduled lane closures ahead of a sewer pipe installation project that is expected to last for four weeks.

On May 15, Sahika Corp. is set to commence a construction project of the pipe under Valencia Boulevard and Tourney Road, from Springfield Court through the intersection of Valencia Boulevard and Tourney Road to the southern portion of Valencia Boulevard.

Construction will take place nightly, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and is expected to occur through the beginning of June, according to a city news release.

The work will allow one lane open in each direction on both Valencia Boulevard and Tourney Road through the intersection of the two streets until the completion of the sewer pipe installation.

“Electronic message boards will be posted in each direction to inform motorists of upcoming lane closures,” the news release read. “Residents are reminded to please reduce their speed through the construction zone for the safety of the public and the contractor’s employees.”
