Valencia alumnus Kyle Ensing and the Long Beach State University men’s volleyball team captured its second consecutive NCAA National Championship on Saturday at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach.
The Beach beat Hawaii 3-1, making them the first Long Beach State program ever to win back-to-back national titles.
Ensing was key defensively, logging three of the team’s 12 total blocks, including one that pulled LBSU away from an 18-18 tie against Hawaii.
He also added 13 kills, the second-most on the team.
The Beach now have 42 straight home wins, a program record, and went 282 overall on the season.
