A HazMat response was called to an overturned metal drum with an unknown substance in Valencia on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department specially trained in handling hazardous materials were called at Avenue Hall, near Avenue Stanford, at 2:25 p.m. for reports of an overturned metal drum leaking an unknown fluid, according to Supervisor Ed Pickett.

“It turned out to be a nontoxic substance,” Pickett said.

After just under two hours at the scene, HazMat officials concluded the contents of the drum was nontoxic and the drum was taken away, Pickett added.
