I’m saddened by the passing of Elijah Cummings, as we all should be.
He was a patriot to the core and an outstanding politician.
His expertise on government issues, which was extraordinary, will be sorely missed.
To quote his wife: “He worked until his last breath because he believed our democracy was the highest and best expression of our collective humanity and that our nation’s diversity was our promise, not our problem.”
To quote Mr. Cummings: “I want justice, oceans of it. I want fairness, rivers of it. That’s what I want. That’s all I want,” Cummings said, quoting from the Bible.”
And to this I say amen as we all should!
