As more youth return to sports, Exer Urgent Care announced it’d be providing students with complimentary sports screening exams and EKGs through its Exer Sports & Schools program.

The program allows schools to register to have Exer’s medical team perform the exams for no charge. These exams are scheduled at nearby Exer locations at a designated date and time.

“Exer Sports & Schools is an innovative community program to help make high school athletics a reality for student athletes especially during the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Exer CEO Rob Mahan said in a prepared statement. “We developed the program as a way to give back to the communities we serve by lending our medical expertise to cover the cost of each athlete’s sports screening exam and helping kids return to playing the sports they love as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.”

EKGs are only for student athletes who have previously had COVID-19.

Exer also provides COVID-19 testing with next-day results for student athletes who need COVID-19 test results before practices and games each week.

Registration is now open for schools, with some in Santa Clarita Valley already scheduled, including one for Canyon High School from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday at Exer Canyon Country. For more information, visit exerurgentcare.com/exer-sports-schools.
