The Los Angeles Dodgers are now one win away from the World Series following a quality start from Hart High School alumnus Tyler Glasnow.
Glasnow, who struck out eight in 5 2/3 innings, allowed one earned run in his start in game three of the National League Championship Series over the Milwaukee Brewers.
In the sixth inning, Tommy Edman singled to center as the Dodgers took the lead over the Brewers and added an insurance run when Freddie Freeman came in to score following a pickoff error from pitcher Abner Uribe.
Alex Vesia relieved Glasnow in the sixth inning and Roki Sasaki pitched the ninth inning and pitched perfectly to close out the game.
After the game, Glasnow was interviewed on live television and described how great a feeling it is to pitch in the playoffs this time around as he was injured during last year’s postseason run.
“It’s incredible to be a part of this, and this incredible group of guys, and to be in my hometown is a pretty surreal feeling,” he said.
The Dodgers will look to sweep the Brewers and advance to the World Series Friday night in game four with the first pitch scheduled for 5:38 p.m.
