Bodily named to Eastern Oregon University dean’s list 

Eastern Oregon University named 611 students to the dean’s list for the 2025 spring term, including Eldred Bodily, of Santa Clarita, majoring in arts, humanities and social science, interdisciplinary studies. 

Qualifying students achieve and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while completing a minimum of 12 hours of graded coursework for the term. 

Eastern Oregon University’s main campus is in La Grande, Oregon.  

Simon graduates in St. Mary physician assistant hooding ceremony 

During a hooding ceremony Aug. 16, two dozen master of science in physician assistant studies graduates received their degrees, including Victoria Simon, of Valencia. 

The master’s hooding ceremony recognizes the achievement of an advanced degree and marks the formal transition from student to practicing professional. 

During the ceremony, faculty place the master’s hood over the graduates’ shoulders, symbolizing mentorship and the passing of professional knowledge and values. 

As a group, they completed 44,484 hours of clinical training — about 1,853 hours per student.  

The 24-month physician assistant studies master’s program prepares students to become competent and compassionate health care providers. Students get hands-on experience in the physician assistant classroom, patient exam rooms and anatomy lab, and with high-fidelity simulation equipment. They are required to complete 12 clinical rotations in various medical specialties.  

College of Saint Mary is located in Omaha, Nebraska. 

Pinto named to Utah Tech University dean’s list 

Utah Tech University students who demonstrated remarkable academic aptitude earned a spot on Utah Tech University’s dean’s list for the summer semester, and Dylann Pinto, of Canyon Country, was among those honored.  

To qualify, students had to attain a semester GPA between 3.5 and 3.89 and complete at least 15 credits. 

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to every student who has earned a place on the president’s or dean’s list,” Michael Lacourse, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Utah Tech University, said in a news release. “Your dedication, perseverance, and pursuit of excellence exemplify the very best of Utah Tech. It is inspiring to see you embrace your opportunities, achieve meaningful academic success, and contribute to the strength and spirit of our university community.”  

Utah Tech University, in St. George, Utah, is an open-enrollment teaching institution that offers more than 300 academic programs at one of the lowest tuition costs in the Western United States, with the motto “active learning. active life.” 

2 local students graduate from Georgia Tech  

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to 6,660 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute’s 268th Commencement exercises May 1-3, at McCamish Pavilion and Bobby Dodd Stadium. 

Among the graduates were Timothy Kang, of Stevenson Ranch, and Minjun Kim, of Valencia.  

The Georgia Institute of Technology, or Georgia Tech, offers business, computing, design, engineering, liberal arts, and sciences degrees, as well as professional development and K-12 programs. Its more than 53,000 undergraduate and graduate students represent 54 U.S. states and territories and more than 146 countries. They study at the main campus in Atlanta, at instructional sites around the world, and through distance and online learning.
