UAlbany recognizes Epalle for spring dean’s list
The University at Albany has recognized Chareine-Laurel Epalle, of Canyon Country, for selection to the spring 2025 dean’s list.
The dean’s list at the University at Albany recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of full-time undergraduate students.
To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average (GPA) of 3.25 or higher in their first semester of study and a GPA of 3.50 or higher in subsequent semesters.
The university, in Albany, New York, is a Carnegie-classified R1 institution offering education in fields like artificial intelligence, atmospheric and environmental sciences, business, education, public health, social sciences, criminal justice, humanities, emergency preparedness, engineering, public administration, and social welfare.
Local students named to dean’s list at Biola University
Approximately 1,500 students were named to the Biola University dean’s list in spring 2025, including more than a dozen from the Santa Clarita Valley.
Biola students are placed on the dean’s list to honor those with a GPA of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credits and whose cumulative GPA is at least 3.2.
The following local students were named to the dean’s list:

• Emma Broyles, of Saugus, majoring in writing for film and TV.
• Josiah Broyles, of Saugus, majoring in cinema and media arts.

• Karilynn Cole, of Canyon Country, majoring in English.
• Rebecca Georgeson, of Santa Clarita, majoring in nursing.
• Benjamin Kugler, of Valencia, majoring in biochemistry.
• Justin Lee, of Santa Clarita, majoring in kinesiology.
• Noah Mcwilliams, of Castaic, majoring in political science.
• Mallory Palm, of Castaic, majoring in business administration.
• Jaden Penberthy, of Valencia, majoring in business administration.
• Sebastian Ramirez, of Santa Clarita, majoring in Bible, theology and ministry.
• Zachary Safavi, of Canyon Country, majoring in computer science.

Sakharkar earns honors at Georgia Tech for spring semester
Shreyas Sakharkar, of Stevenson Ranch, earned the distinction of faculty honors for spring 2025 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have earned a 4.0 academic average for the semester.
The Georgia Institute of Technology, or Georgia Tech, offers business, computing, design, engineering, liberal arts, and sciences degrees, as well as professional development and K-12 programs for fostering success at every stage of life.
