The Newhall School District’s governing board is set to receive a presentation on the School Accountability Report Cards of 2025 during its first public meeting of the year on Tuesday evening, according to the agenda.
Kate Peattie, the district’s assistant superintendent of instructional services, is set to make the presentation and will provide the public with information about each school.
State law requires that schools receiving state funding must prepare and distribute a School Accountability Report Card, also known as SARC, which includes the school overview narrative and profiled data file uploaded onto the California Department of Education, the agenda item states.
Some of the information on the report card includes information on student enrollment by grade level, student groups, teacher preparation and placement, and information on each school facility and its conditions and planned improvements.
The report also includes summarized test scores from the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, which is a statewide test system used to measure students’ knowledge and skills across different subjects.
The governing board is recommended to approve the motion for all 10 school site report cards aimed to help the district ensure all students achieve academic success, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, and enhance student engagement and foster a positive school climate.
Other items on the agenda include the first reading of a series of administrative board policies in relation to comprehensive safety plans, and district and school websites.
Public session is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. at the Newhall District office, 25375 Orchard Village Road.
