I’m sick to death of seeing George Whitesides’ name in the paper, pandering to voters, by coming up with more taxpayer money for pork-barrel issues right before the election. Certainly we are all glad he’s spreading federal money our way. But does anybody think that the same benefits would not have come here under the guidance of Buck McKeon, or Mike Garcia? Or that Mike Garcia would not have supported fire safety after the Castaic fire in 2025, or that Mike Garcia would not have thrown some federal money to NASA in Palmdale? And, if the intersection upgrades were in the city’s plan, what will the city do with the $1.2 million they don’t need to spend on intersection upgrades? His, and Pilar Schiavo’s, political pandering are so obvious, right before the election. Let’s not forget how both of them worked so hard to rubber-stamp everything that the Democrats wanted to push down our throats.
