Man was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of carrying a firearm in a public place and making threats to use said weapon on the victim, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies arrested the suspect at approximately 2 a.m. in the 29000 block of Raintree Lane in Saugus, according to Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s station.

The suspect and victim were involved in a physical altercation in which the suspect made threats to use the firearm against the victim, said Miller in an email.

Deputies managed to recover the firearm at the scene from the suspect’s vehicle, which did not belong to the suspect, after which the suspect was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail and was released on $50,000 bail later that day.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday at the San Fernando Courthouse.
