A man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of disobeying a restraining order and preventing the victim from testifying or being able to reach protective services.
The 37-year-old was arrested at approximately 6:30 p.m. on the 27500 block of Woodfield Place in Saugus, according to Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
There is a restraining order between the suspect and the victim, said Miller in an email. When the man went to the victim’s residence, the victim attempted to call 9-1-1, according to Miller.
The man took the victim’s phone and threw it to the ground, causing it to shatter, according to Miller.
Deputies arrived at the scene and arrested the man on suspicion of felony charges of preventing a victim from testifying, criminal threats, and vandalism, along with a misdemeanor charge of disobeying a domestic relations court order.
