Michael Mazzetti has lived in Santa Clarita for more than 30 years and has worked with SCVTV for 20 of those years, making him the longest-serving volunteer at the station, according to SCVTV President Leon Worden.

Mazzetti is also an Emmy nominee.

Having worked on various TV shows, Mazzetti is now nominated for a Daytime Emmy in Outstanding Live and Direct to Tape Sound Mixing for his work on “Let’s Make a Deal.” This is Mazzetti’s fourth time being nominated, previously having been nominated for primetime and sports as well as daytime.

Mazzetti is the audio department head, and he and his crew are up against “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Family Feud,” “The Price Is Right” and “Steve” for the award.

“This is my ninth season with the show,” Mazzetti said. “It’s exciting — we’ll see. These are always fun.”

At SCVTV, Mazzetti is not only the vice president on the board of directors, but also head of engineering and chief financial officer.

“We’re really excited that he’s been nominated for an Emmy again,” Worden said. “He’s the one who makes SCVTV run, and without Mike, there would be no SCVTV as you know it.”

The Daytime Emmy Awards focuses on all daytime TV productions that run from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m. and recognizes them for outstanding achievement, according to the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The 46th annual awards ceremony will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Sunday, May 5, and will be live at 5 p.m. on emmyonline.tv.
