The Great American Beer Festival (GABF) is the largest collection of U.S. beer served in a festival and takes place at the Denver Convention Center Oct. 6 through 8. The festival has been held each year since it was founded in 1982 and this year the tickets sold out in about an hour to the 60,000 attendees. There will be more than 800 breweries pouring 3,800 beers over the three day period. The festival also includes a competition in which beers are judged in 92 different beer-style categories.
The Mile High City will have different events during the week of GABF such as tap takeovers, meet-and-greets with brewers, concerts, classes, tours, beer dinners and much more — all in the name of great beer. This will be the first year in our almost a 20-year history as a brewery that we will be attending GABF and we are super excited about it. We are looking forward to spending time at GABF with so many fellow brewers, many of which we will be meeting for the first time, along with the thousands of craft beer fanatics.
Other events that take place at the festival are dozens of educational seminars, cheese and beer pairing along with artisan cheese samples, craft soda samples, and lots of entertainment. One of the most popular events in the festival is called “Paired” in which 21 of the most renowned chefs prepare dishes to pair with craft beer and allow the guests to taste and discuss the pairing. GABF is an amazing week that is all about craft beer. Cheers!
