“Just take care of our side,” Trinity head coach Rebecca Peluffo told her team after dropping the first two games. “We need to worry about what we can control and everything else will fall into place.”

Tied 3-3 to start game three, the Knights used a 16-7 run to balloon the lead to 19-10. The Cardinals continued to fight, however, bringing the score to 24-20. Trinity’s Kathryn Brooks halted any Cardinal comeback with a kill to give the Knights the 25-20 win.

Trinity and SCCS went back and forth in game four, tallying six ties and five lead changes. After a timeout with the score 23-19, the Cardinals brought the score to 24-22, but couldn’t capitalize, losing the fourth frame 25-22.

Game five matched game four with six ties and five lead changes in a seesawing set that Trinity won 15-10, highlighted by Hannah Caddow’s two kills for the final two points.

“That last set I told Kathryn [Brooks], ‘Please set me, I think I can do this,’” Caddow said. “We couldn’t have done it without her execution. We’re a family.”
