Now in its fourth month of existence, a collaborative of over 60 local businessmen and women, individuals, and non-profit organizations is working to ensure that all veterans in the Santa Clarita Valley area have access to all of the benefits and services that not only they are entitled to, but also those which make their lives easier.
Meeting monthly, scv-vets.org discusses the needs and issues affecting veterans from WWII to the present and offers a one-stop shopping service offering “credible assistance by competent and caring professionals,” the organization said.
Membership is free and the group never asks for any contributions other a member’s willingness to serve. It is, however, looking for businesses that are able to provide some type of service.
Veterans in need of service can obtain information and services by checking out the scv-vets.org website.
For those interested in participating, SCV-vets meets on the third Friday of every month in Room 301 of the University Center on the campus of College Of The Canyons. A complimentary lunch is offered at the meeting.
