Most people wait until it’s too late to tell their loved ones how much they love and appreciate them. My name is Willa Robinson. I am an author and publisher and I decided to share with my husband, Vernon, the good things that I love and cherish about him in a book to present to him on our 51st wedding anniversary (February 27, 2016). However, a few weeks before our celebration, we received some devastating news from my husband’s doctor.
Although I had observed symptoms before the diagnosis, it took my breath away when the doctor spoke the deadly words, “I’m so sorry, it’s Alzheimer’s disease.” I refer to Alzheimer’s disease as a vicious THIEF because it robs its victims of their brain’s possessions until it is a shell. One year later on our 52nd Anniversary, I published 52 Ways to Love My Man.
52 Ways to Love My Man is a romantic love story consisting of 26 good things I adore about Vernon and 26 good things his family and close friends love about him. Having been married for 52 years, I am frequently asked to share our secret to longevity with our marriage. So I included successful marriage tips from couples married twenty-five years or longer. Also, there is a section about Alzheimer’s disease. A percentage of the proceeds from the book will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association to help find a cure for this malicious disease.
