Senior freed from elevator in Castaic

There were some tense moments Wednesday for an elderly woman trapped in an elevator.

Firefighters freed an elderly woman who became trapped inside an elevator for 30 minutes at the Castaic Lake Senior Apartments Wednesday morning.

The woman was reported to be “OK,” by a receptionist at the facility.

Firefighters were dispatched to the complex on Castaic Road north of Lake Hughes Road at 9:12 a.m., a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department told The Signal.

“This was for an elevator rescue,” the Fire Department spokesman said. “The person was trapped in the elevator for 30 minutes.”
