Clarice’s Cake and Candy Supplies is proud to announce the celebration of Nanci Olmos’ 30th Anniversary as owner and proprietor.
As a single woman and mother, Nanci Olmos took over ownership of Clarice’s Cake and Candy Supplies in June of 1987 from founder Clarice Secrest and kept the name Clarice’s to honor the talent and legacy Secrest had not only brought to Newhall and the Santa Clarita Valley but all of Southern California.
Now a 49 year resident of the Santa Clarita Valley, Olmos has proudly kept with the tradition of Clarice’s founder, and spent over 30 years serving the residents and the business community of the Santa Clarita Valley. With Nanci at the helm, Clarice’s Cake and Candy Supplies has been a 29 year participant of “Taste of the Town,” sponsor of the Santa Clarita Valley Child and Family Center, and an original participant of “Festival of Trees,” including fourteen years as chairperson of the Gingerbread House Contest and Auction.
For over 15 years Olmos has donated to the Legacy Christian School and Carousel Ranch, and donated supplies for Our Lady of Perpetual Help’s Caramel Apple booth.
Throughout the years Olmos has taught numerous classes for special groups throughout Santa Clarita as well as serving on the “Noel to Newhall” committee, from 1997-2004, an event put on by the small businesses in Newhall to bring the community together for the holiday season.
A celebration will be held on August 25 & 26. Mayor Cameron Smyth will stopping by to congratulate Nanci at 3 p.m. on Friday August 25.
Clarice’s is located at 22936 Lyons Ave. in Newhall.
